Dinner Meeting – Beekeeping … a globally important subject and challenge

20 August @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$30

A very special night on 20th August – an evening on beekeeping. Presentations will cover the international gravity of the decline in the bee population, as well as, the Joy of Beekeeping.

The mayor of the Moonee Valley City Council, John Sipek, is bringing two of his key staff along and will show a video on the importance of beekeeping globally, and what they are doing in Moonee Valley to address this locally. Faye Kirkwood, an apiarist and current President of the Caulfield Rotary Club, will talk about beekeeping and it’s fascination and enjoyment. We will also have fellow members of Faye’s Doncaster Beekeepers Club, along with members of other Rotary Clubs, representatives from Boroondara Council and from Swinburne University.
On the night we will have honey tasting, show children’s hives made by Men’s Sheds and have a beehive cake as a prize.  Many people will be attending our Club meeting on that night and I hope that partners, friends and environmentally conscious younger people will come along for a very informative and significant night.

Meeting 6:00pm for 6:30pm start.
