No meeting last week so its going to be a slow news bulletin unfortunately. I came up with a thought for the week though - this week was the 23rd anniversary of 9/11. Most of us would have been shocked by the events of that day Considering all the wars and hate in the world this quote stands out The board met last week and went through a number of items which I am sure the Pres will share in good time. So what is news. Well its travel time it seems John P off to South Africa Jill and Michael off to South Africa The Simpsons are somewhere in Europe, its Thursday so who knows which country The Pres and Jonathan are off to Canada for a cruise starting next week. And on October 5th the Philippines Eye Hear mission starts with a number of us away So it would appear that the meetings may be sparsely attended. Please make every effort to attend Next week we have the induction of Geoff Ballard - a new member proposed by Val. Look forward to you joining Geoff. Don't forget - In Robs absence John B needs to know who is not attending or having a meal. Couple of things to advise A message from DIK - see below. Let Tony L know if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity to any community and other groups who you support DIK has recently been offered a substantial quantity of 3M, N95 Masks (8210 P2 Respirators) with an expiry date of September 2025. While many local communities could greatly benefit from this donation, DIK may not be fully aware of the numerous community groups or individuals you collaborate with. To ensure these masks reach those in need and avoid ending up in landfill, DIK is committed to facilitating their distribution as quickly and widely as possible. Once we have an indication of the quantity, we will arrange for delivery to the DIK warehouse – at this stage the dates to collect are unknown. - There is no limit on the number of cartons you can request—each carton contains 160 masks.
- Whether or not you are a DIK member, you are welcome to request as many masks as you need.
- Though DIK typically works with Rotary Clubs, this offer is open to anyone, including community groups at no cost.
- The masks will need to be collected on a Tuesday or Thursday from the DIK warehouse in West Footscray. Alternatively, if you are located regionally, we can arrange to have them transported at your cost.
