Next weeks Speaker Jisu Yang NYSF Student

“Hello! My name is Jisu and I am currently in year 12 at St Catherine’s School. I am Australian with a Korean background and fun fact about me, I love science! I will be completing VCE this year and currently studying maths and science-based subjects (and French). I became passionate about science through my operation back in year 6 as I had a spinal tumour that affected my walking.

It was a life changing experience which changed my perspective of medicine and science in general. I am very delighted to be your guest speaker and I hope you are excited to hear about my experience at NYSF (National Youth Science Forum)”.
Working Bee at Camp Getaway
Those who attended the presentation by Ken Maxfield about Camp Getaway could not help but be impressed by the work done there.

As part of our ongoing commitment to the Camp this is an early advice to lock away the dates of our upcoming working bee on site alongside our sister club Woodend

President Tony and Deidre, with myself and Ken Maxfield have arranged a joint working bee at Camp Getaway between our sister/partner clubs.

It has been set for Sunday 24th March 2024.
Save the date now to ensure you can attend.

Put the date in your calendars now.

In the past we have arrived around 10am and worked till lunch time and a few hours after lunch as well. Axedale is an hour from Woodend and 2 hours from Melbourne.

The details and duties will be worked out closer to the day and advised by the caretakers Benji and Tara. In the past we have done mowing, brush cutting, weeding, pruning, painting and cleaning.

It will be a great day of contribution, fellowship and celebration.

Find out more about Camp Getaway in Axedale, a wonderful resource for Rotary at https://campgetawayaxedale.weebly.com/
