❤️ Seeing the difference that Rotary can make

This October, the Rotary Club of Canterbury will once again take Rotary into action in the Philippines.

Our team of Rotarians and volunteers will travel to Masbate for our 27th annual Sight and Hearing Mission, working alongside the Rotary Club of Masbate and the Philippines EYEhEAR Foundation to help people who may otherwise struggle to access essential eye and hearing care.

For some of the people we meet, something as simple as a pair of glasses or treatment for an eye or ear condition can make an enormous difference to their everyday lives.

👁️ Seeing more clearly.
👂 Hearing more clearly.
❤️ Having access to care when it might otherwise be out of reach.

We are also sponsor 4 final-year Orthoptics students from La Trobe University. They will work alongside the medical teams, gaining valuable experience while using their developing skills to help people in local communities. Below is the team involved in interviewing the La Trove university students recently:

Behind every statistic is a person — someone wanting to see their family more clearly, hear a conversation, read a book or simply enjoy a better quality of life.

That is what makes this mission so special.

It is about people helping people — Rotarians, medical professionals, students and local communities working together across borders to make a difference.

The mission begins in October, and we look forward to taking you along with us through photographs, stories and updates from Masbate.

🙏 The Rotary Club of Canterbury gratefully acknowledges that this project is being delivered with the support of a Rotary Foundation District Grant.

Rotary in action. Making a difference, one person at a time. 🌏❤️
